Course Description:
Teaching methodologies, strategies, description/prescription for movement analysis, along with the best teaching activity for the level of student will be reviewed and practiced by all. Progressions for beginners and intermediates as well as some personal feedback for your early season skiing skills will be included. This event is guided by the group’s topics and questions. Must be able to tele on blue square terrain.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group and environmental conditions; however, they will typically include:
• Identify and understand the skills that make up the Skills Concept model
• Recognize how the skills relate to each other and their dependence upon balance for effective execution
• Understand the body movement and ski-performance outcomes specific to each skill
• Understand how balance is both a source for, and a result of, effective and efficient movement.
