Honor Our Roots, Keep Progressing Together
Celebrate 30 years of AASI by reconnecting with the people, progression, and passion that have shaped snowboard instruction. This special anniversary event is an opportunity to honor our roots, deepen professional development and celebrate our community.
Spend the day riding with fellow members and Education Staff in a collaborative environment focused on personal riding, shared experiences, and plenty of fun. Groups will explore individual goals while making the most of the terrain and conditions available. Whether you’ve been part of AASI for decades or are newer to the community, come celebrate where we’ve been and keep progressing together.

What You’ll Do
Specific activities will vary depending on the group’s needs, goals, and conditions.
Learning Experiences
- Personal riding development across available terrain and conditions
- Individualized coaching and feedback based on your goals
- Exploring tactics and movement options to develop versatility and expand riding performance
- Collaborative riding, reflection, and discussion with fellow snowboard educators
- Sharing experiences and perspectives from across AASI’s history

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:
- Identify strengths and opportunities for continued development in your personal riding
- Apply feedback and new movement or tactical options to enhance your riding performance
- Demonstrate increased versatility with different approaches to terrain, conditions, and outcomes

Waiting for Winter: AASI 30 Year History
Join National Team member Brian Donovan for a look back at the people, milestones, and innovations that have shaped snowboard instruction in the United States, from the evolution of teaching methods, certification, equipment, and culture to how they still influence the way we teach today.

Where to Meet
Meet your group on snow at 8:45 am in the main base area in front of the South American lift. If anything changes, we’ll email or text you.
What to Bring
Personal snowboard equipment suitable for all-mountain green, blue and entry-level black terrain.
