Description:
The Level I Certification Assessment affirms that an instructor is qualified to teach beginner/novice skiers in both classic and skate technique on terrain appropriate for early skill development (typically “green” terrain). This assessment evaluates candidates across all three domains of the Learning Connection Model—people skills, teaching skills, and technical skills—as well as professionalism and self-management. Successful participants demonstrate the ability to create safe, fun, and engaging learning environments for novice students while applying the Cross Country Skiing Fundamentals and the PSIA Cross Country Technical Model.
Candidates should expect a formal assessment environment and need to have completed their Cross Country Level I E-Learning Course prior to registering.
