I am the Snow Sports School Director and Manager of the Recirculating Whitewater Course at Wisp Resort, located in western Maryland.
I am the husband to my wife of 20 years, Amy Anderson and father of two teenage daughters Ashlynn and Ava Anderson.
Aside from snow sports, my interest and pastimes include, cycling (road, gravel, and mountain), water sports (waterskiing, stand up paddling, and swimming), running, hiking, family camping, archery, and hunting.
I also enjoy volunteering as a coach for the local NICA Team (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) and serving as a board member for the local Snow Sports Team.

| If you could give a younger person snowsports/career advice, what would it be? | Spend time with individuals that are better at there jobs than you. Watch, listen, learn, and apply |
| What would be your personal motto? | Make yourself uncomfortable at least once a day. Do hard things. |

| Where is the first place you participated in snowsports? | First experience with skiing Crystal Mountain Washington State . First ski lessons Brighton , Alta, Park City , Snow Bird |
| What was your first job in the snowsports industry? | I stopped skiing when i moved back East , Father Military… Some one told me , while at a ski swap Princeton sports .. they make snow here and there is a place called Ski Liberty … I came half way thru the season and was a “lifty” I then skied with Mac Jackson , he said yeah we could use you as a ski instructor.. and that is where it all started then I discovered the Pro Jam .. the rest is history |
| What is a valuable lesson you learned in your snowsports career? | Never give up .. Failure is just a stepping stone to succeed .. it’s about the journey, not the medal or the prize .. Digging deep within yourself to handle adversity |
| What is your favorite memory from your snowsports career so far? | Making ETS ( examiner training squad) I was one of three that made it out of 30 |
| Where is your favorite place to ski or ride? | Whistler, Crested Butte, Big Sly… But Utah has got to be the best!! And most recent Solitude Mountain |
| What activities do you enjoy, when you’re not out on the snow? | I am an avid mountain biker, I surf quite often too when it gets too warm out to mountain bike. In addition to my skiing, I snowboard quite often. Also have thought of pursuing that certification also |

Decorated USMC Veteran, graduate of Cornell University, retired Maryland Assistant Secretary of Commerce, and serves as Vice President of Rider Jet Center in Maryland.

| What is an interesting fact about you? | Set a record for most vertical feet skied in four hours (44,880 vertical feet) in 1994. That record held up for three years. |
| Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about? | When I worked in radio full time, I was named the CBS Radio News Affiliate Reporter of the Year. I MC several events per year. |
| What jobs do you do – within and outside the snowsports industry, both winter & summer? | I teach part time at Wisp (and help train staff). I serve on several nonprofits boards of directors. I am the co-founder and a board member of the Maryland International Film Festival. I work full time at Rider Jet Center. |
| Where is the first place you participated in snowsports? | I learned to ski at Song Mountain in Tully, NY. |
| What was your first job in the snowsports industry? | I started ski teaching at Greek Peak in Cortland, NY. |
| What is a valuable lesson you learned in your snowsports career? | Feedback, feedback, feedback |
| What is your favorite memory from your snowsports career so far? | Conducting the first-ever PSIA Level 1 exam at West Point (in 2016 in a blizzard), with Colonel Charlie Rockwell taking the other group. The ski school there had been ASIA, and joined PSIA that season…this happened while my two children were students at West Point. |
| Where is your favorite place to ski or ride? | Where ever I am at the time. |
| If you could give a younger person snowsports/career advice, what would it be? | Don’t ever stop learning. |
| What activities do you enjoy, when you’re not out on the snow? | Bike riding. |
| What would be your personal motto? | One more run |

| Who is someone you admire, and why? | I admire anyone who can persevere, and come back from bad things (injuries, set backs, whatever). |
