Getting ready to attend a Level I Assessment?

Level I Assessment Preps will help you prepare for this first step in your exciting career as an instructor. This Assessment Prep is required for all Alpine and/or Snowboard Level I candidates who are not yet affiliated with a resort and can support those with limited access to formal training. Through the lens of the Learning Connection Model, gain an understanding of the Fundamentals (technical, teaching and people skills) in the beginner/novice zone. Through on-hill practice, peer-to-peer activities, teaching scenarios and group discussions, become familiar with the format, assessment criteria and activities of the Level I Assessment. Participants should arrive prepared to be on snow for two days and able to ski or ride safely on all green and blue terrain.

Maybe a Level I College is the way to go for you?

The Level I College is designed as an introduction to instruction. Participants will be introduced to the PSIA-AASI Learning Connection Model. They will focus on the fundamentals of sliding as they relate to the Technical, Teaching, and People Skills, at the beginner and novice levels. There will be 3 days of coaching, followed by a Level I Certification assessment. Participants should arrive prepared to be on snow for five days and able to ski or ride safely on all green and blue terrain.
