Description:
Are you ready to test your technical understanding and movement analysis skills at the highest level of snowboard instructor certification? This course is designed for the aspiring AASI Level III instructor who is seeking assessment on their technical understanding and movement analysis performance compared to the AASI National Standards. Participants will explore the application of the technical understanding, technical skills, and movement analysis capabilities in advanced terrain, conditions, and activities while receiving targeted evaluation and feedback. The course emphasizes the ability to perform movement analysis and personal analysis in advanced terrain to be evaluated to the AASI Level III Technical Understanding and Movement Analysis (TU/MA) standards. This assessment is the evaluative TU/MA step toward completing Level III certification.

Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on group, terrain, and conditions and typically include:
- Performing personal analysis of your own riding performance of defined riding outcomes in advanced terrain.
- Performing movement analysis of the riding of others in advanced terrain.
- Receiving targeted feedback from Examiners on performance relative to the National standards.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, successful participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate consistency, accuracy, and adaptability in Level III technical understanding and movement analysis assessment activities.
- Articulate accurate cause-and-effect relationships of all the Technical
Fundamentals within all phases of the turn/ATML to offer an effective
prescription for change for riders through the advanced zone.
- Describe specific performances using Technical Fundamentals and
considering tactics and equipment choices using current PSIA-AASI
resources.
Prerequisite(s):
- AASI Level II Certification
- Ability to ride confidently and safely in all terrain and conditions, including steeps, bumps, off-piste, and freestyle features
