Course Description:

Prior to registering for this assessment, please review the prerequisites outlined in the “Education” section of easternsnowpros.org.

The Alpine Level III Assessment – Teaching Module is a one-day event. Groups will meet at a specified location at 8:45 A.M. Please be punctual. Candidates will be placed in small groups and each group will be assigned two evaluators who will ski with the group for the entire day. Scoring reflects the Assessment Criteria of the National Standards. During the day, the candidate can expect to teach their peers. In addition to their own teaching session(s), candidates will be expected to observe, give comments and actively participate in teaching/coaching discussions as requested by the examiners.

Please review the Alpine Assessment Guide for more details.

Additional Event Details:

This last Alpine Level III Assessment of this season at Waterville Valley will be conducted in the new, three-part modular format: “Skiing” module (which will remain the same as all other Alpine Level III Skiing Assessments offered this season), and the new “Teaching/People” module and “Tech/MA” module. Those two modules have typically made up the “Alpine Level III Teaching Assessment” we have previously administered. All modules are bankable, and candidates looking to complete their Alpine Level III during this last opportunity of the season would need to complete both the “Teaching/People” and “Teach/MA” modules to satisfy the former “Teaching Assessment”. For more information, please reference the article “Launching into Winter”, Keri Reid, Fall 2024 SnowPro, p. 19.
