Course Description:
This interactive indoor course is designed for instructors looking to deepen their technical understanding of snowboarding and sharpen their movement analysis skills. Using a blend of PowerPoint resources, video analysis, and live in-person presentations, participants will explore effective ways to identify and describe rider movements, connect observations to cause-and-effect relationships, and communicate feedback clearly. The course emphasizes discussion, collaboration, and practice in presenting technical concepts in a professional, engaging way.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on group, terrain, and conditions and typically include:
• Engage with PowerPoint-supported discussions that outline key technical models and frameworks.
• Practice movement analysis using curated video clips of snowboarders at different levels and in varied terrain.
• Work in small groups to share insights, refine observations, and build consensus around technical understanding.
• Discuss how to present to peers, practicing effective communication of technical information.
• Receive feedback from clinicians and peers to strengthen accuracy, clarity, and delivery of technical explanations.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, successful participants will be able to:
• Accurately observe and describe rider movements using consistent and precise technical language.
• Apply cause-and-effect relationships to connect rider movement to snowboard performance outcomes.
• Build confidence in presenting technical topics to peers through live discussion and presentation opportunities.
• Enhance video analysis skills by identifying key movements and performance indicators in a variety of rider scenarios.
• Demonstrate strategies for communicating technical information in ways that are clear, accessible, and student-centered.

To transfer your registration to a different event, please cancel this registration and register for the new event.
If you need to cancel from an Eastern event:

- Up to 3 weeks prior to the event start: Full refund of the cost of your event registration.
- Less than 3 weeks prior to the event start: 50% refund of the cost of your event registration.
- Less than one week prior to the start date and time of your event, event registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Certain premier regional and national events follow a cancellation policy different from the standard cancellation policy outlined above. Please refer to those events directly for the applicable event cancellation policies.
If you need to cancel an Eastern premier event (an event that is 4 or more days):

- Up to 3 weeks prior to the event start: Full refund of the cost of your event registration.
- Less than 3 weeks prior to the event start: 50% refund of the cost of your event registration.
- IF YOU DO NOT SHOW AT EVENT REGISTRATION AND DO NOT CONTACT US by 4:30pm on last business day before the event: No refund.
Please note that no refunds will be issued for events once attended. We encourage members to review event details carefully before registering to ensure a satisfactory experience. Extenuating circumstances (medical or bereavement) will be considered for a refund if notification is given at the earliest opportunity, and the request is received within one week after the start of the event.
Our goal is to ensure all events run as scheduled; however, there are times, with very little notice, that we may have to cancel or move an event due to factors beyond our control. We encourage you to consider this possibility when making travel plans.
