Course Description:
You’ve been training hard for the Level III Assessment and feel ready to hone your skills even further before committing to the real thing. This Level III prep series will focus on refinement and mastery of skills and tactics needed for high level skiing situations and accurate performance of demos and assessment activities. Each day will focus on one area of the Learning Connection Model. Please be advised that skiing “all terrain” is part of the curriculum and may include bump skiing and performing demos in challenging conditions. Teaching and People skills will be practiced within the context of on-hill Movement Analysis. Participants should expect opportunities for peer-to-peer coaching.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group’s needs and environmental conditions and typically include:
• Practicing specific activities for the Level III assessment as well as activities that improve performance and understanding of movement concepts.
• Reviewing and understanding how the application of the Skills Concept and the Alpine Skiing Fundamentals impact ski performance and are reflected in the National Standard.
• Reviewing and understanding the Assessment Forms and Assessment Criteria for the Assessment Activities.
• Exploring terrain that is similar to or is used for exam assessment activities.
• Delving into strategies and tactics for dealing with exam anxiety for a successful performance.
