Course Description:
Ski with the Eastern Team events feature two full days of personalized group training with “the best of the best.” A portion of the registration fee goes to support Eastern Team members as they prepare for the National Team Tryouts at Breckenridge, CO in April. The clinic will focus primarily on skiing improvement and the skiing fundamentals. In addition, the teaching skills and people skills will be introduced, and the use of these skills will be highlighted from time to time throughout the two days. Terrain will be selected based on the ability level of the group.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group and environmental conditions; however, they will typically include:
• Introducing the five fundamentals of skiing.
• Performing a variety of activities and tasks in groomed terrain to improve individual performance.
• Introducing preferred body posture and pole usage
• Practicing skiing skills in different terrain, speeds and pitch.
• Understanding, through activities and feedback, personal ski performance and activities to practice after the clinic
