Event Participant Safety Policy
PSIA-AASI Eastern
Event Participant Safety Policy
Skiing and riding are athletic and physically demanding activities that require skill, knowledge and experience. Generally, it is the expectation of PSIA-AASI Eastern that every event participant shall possess the requisite level of fitness and stamina to participate safely, on all appropriate terrain, and at a pace consistent with other members of the group.
Specifically, in an assessment event (i.e., certification or specialist event) it is the expectation of PSIA-AASI Eastern that each participant shall possess the requisite level of skill, knowledge and experience to participate safely, on the terrain defined in the national standard, and at a pace consistent with other members of the group. As such, in assessment events, PSIA-AASI Eastern reserves the right to have education staff dismiss participants when they pose a risk to themselves or others; or when they consistently impede the progress of the group. In such a situation, no refund will be provided.
In a non-assessment event (clinic / educational event) PSIA-AASI Eastern reserves the right to have education staff reassign participants to another more appropriate event if they pose a risk to themselves or others, or consistently impede the progress of the group. In such a situation, an appropriate event will be recommended, and the member may be transferred to that event at no charge (other than any difference in event costs), or a gift card toward a future event will be provided.
