CEU Management Policy
To maintain PSIA-AASI certification, Eastern members must renew their membership every season and obtain continuing educational clinic credits (CEUs) as outlined below to keep their certifications in good standing:
- Continuing Education Units/Credits (CEUs) are required for certified members to maintain their certification.
- Certified Members need to earn a minimum of six (6) CEUs every membership season. The membership season starts July 1 and ends June 30.
- If you earn more than 6 CEUs during the season, you can transfer up to 6 CEUs to the following season.
- If you do not maintain your CEUs, your education status changes to Inactive and the missed CEUs must be made up.
- CEUs can be earned in any discipline and in any region.
- Members can check their CEU status by logging in at members.thesnowpros.org.
- Certified Lifetime, Registered and Alumni Members are exempt from CEU requirements.
What does this mean?
All Certified members regardless of age will be due for 6 credits (a 1-day event or the equivalent) every season or 12 credits (a 2-day event or the equivalent) every other season.
If you’re a Certified Member and haven’t maintained or met your CEU requirements:
- At the end of the season (June 30th), your account will be assessed to determine if you have fulfilled your education requirements. If the requirements have not been met, you will see an Education Prepayment fee* on your dues renewal statement.
- Your education status changes to Inactive.
- To return to certified active status, you will need to complete all missed and current season’s CEUs up to a maximum of 24.
- If you do not earn the minimum number of CEUs at the end of 4 years, you will be reassigned to the Alumni Member category.
*The Education Prepayment fee can be applied in its entirety toward your qualifying event in the coming season. Qualifying events are PSIA-AASI Eastern events which award CEU credits upon successful completion. Qualifying events can be on-snow or online.
- E-learning courses may not be used for continuing education credit more than every four seasons.
- E-learning courses may not be used for continuing education credit more than once for each course.
- E-learning courses are available to complete at any time, at your convenience.

If you fail to maintain these requirements and wish to reinstate your membership at a later date, you would need to go through the reinstatement process.
